Chuck Pyle Charles S. Pyle. Native Californian, Attended Academy of Art College and began a freelance career based in San Francisco, Ca. Discovered oil painting and changed his direction from pen, ink, and watercolor in late seventies, and continues to this day to paint, in many media, both as an illustrator and a studio painter. His paintings have graced many book covers and are in many private and government collections. Lindgren and Smith have represented him since 1989. Pyle teaches drawing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he is the Chair of the Illustration program.
