Mariusz Stawarski Mariusz Stawarski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland. In 1986 he began to paint his original lyrical pictures touching on a specific kind of humor. He started to participate in different local and international cartoon competitions and won many awards. Since 1997 he has been publishing his art on the pages of WPROST magazine (one of the political week magazines in Poland). In 1999 Polish section of IBBY awarded him for book illustrations ("Dreams"). In 2009 Dutton Publishing House (Penguin Group) published a book "Sky Magic" with his illustrations.
